About Fleming Dental
Fleming Dental is a small, people-first practice on Broad Street, near Ninth Street and Duke. We focus on how your bite works and how your teeth last, and we take the time to get it right.
Why we are here
Our goal is simple. We want your visits to feel calm and unhurried, and we want your mouth to be comfortable, healthy, and stable for the long run. Good function comes first, and a smile you feel confident in follows from there.
Most of our patients come to us because someone they trust sent them. We work to earn that same trust with everyone who sits in the chair.

Our work goes deep where it matters most: the way your bite functions, and the health that follows from getting it right.
We treat the person in the chair first and the teeth second. That order changes everything about a visit.
We start with how your bite works. When the function is right, the look and the longevity follow.

We would rather help you keep your own teeth for decades than chase quick fixes. This is care built to last.
Our corner of Durham
You will find us at 1020 Broad Street, in the Ninth Street District of Old West Durham. It is one of the city’s older, walkable neighborhoods, a short drive from Duke’s East Campus and an easy trip from downtown.
It suits us. Ninth Street has been Durham’s shopping and dining corner for more than a century, and the area draws people who value things that are made well and meant to last. That is how we think about dentistry too.
Dr. Fleming is a North Carolina native, and he is glad to practice in a part of Durham with this much history and character.
The dentist behind the care
Dr. Fleming is a North Carolina native and a restorative dentist who focuses on how your bite works and how your teeth last. His training runs deep, including advanced work through the Pankey Institute, and his approach is unhurried and deliberate.
Care comes first with him, and the dentistry follows from there.
A caring team
From the front desk to the chair, our hygienists and assistants are the reason a visit here feels welcoming. They are skilled, warm, and genuinely glad you came in.
Dr. Fleming is particular about what goes on the walls, and most of them are still bare. This painting, by Quebec artist Marc Léger, is the exception. Léger paints the geometry hidden inside a landscape: the horizon, the layers of sky and water, reduced to a few deliberate lines without losing the feeling of the place.
It hangs at the front desk because it says something about how we think. Good dentistry works the same way. The structure underneath, how your teeth meet and how your bite carries load, is what makes the result look natural and last.
